Caring for carers

Dealing with others

  • Although most people may have heard of Alzheimer’s disease, those who do not live with the condition may not know what it is really like.
Alzheimer’s disease develops gradually and it is important for you and the person you are caring for to continue to go out, enjoy life and spend time in other people’s company.

People you meet in public, or even family members, may need more information to understand the condition. Close friends may be more willing to share some of the emotional burden with you however they may not realise what you are going through unless you tell them.
